Doing what you love and being passionate about help you to be persistent until you start making money. That is how they do it. 

For them, their work is also pleasure to them. It is better buttressed in the words of Malcolm S.Forbes, "The biggest mistakes people make in life is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy". 

Alike Dangote said as he was asked a question: "How do you enjoy your life?": I enjoy my life a lot. But I derive a lot of joy working. Part of what keeps me alive is working hard. Once I work hard, I remain very very happy".
